Our Subjects

Reading and Writing

Reading and writing help are offered to children just learning to read all the way up to those who are adults, working on screenplays or essays. We believe that there is a community of literacy in which all humans can belong and we see each class on this spectrum as a part of this community of readers and writers.

Math

Math instruction is offered to a wide range of students as well, from those who need help meeting the goals and expectations of their classroom to those who find themselves outpacing the material of the classroom and who are looking for more challenge. We also offer math classes to those children and teenagers who are curious about math that doesn't necessarily appear on a normal curriculum. We use, in every type of math class, a great deal of puzzles, games, reasoning activities and visual proofs.

Theater

Theater and drama classes are offered for the earliest learners, coming from Kindergarten and First Grade, to older children ready to immerse themselves in Shakespeare or interested in Scene Studies and culminating in adult workshop classes, focusing on more serious (but still playful) techniques developed by actors and teachers ranging from Ruth Zaporah to Konstantin Stanislavsky.

Foreign Language

We offer a wide range of foreign language classes for children ranging from Kindergarten to high school and all the way to adults who would like to continue learning for pleasure or for professional purposes. Foreign Language teaches us to think in new ways, gives us useful skills and introduces us to the joy of new means of expression. Grammar, vocabulary and literature are all covered in a variety of ways relating to the age of the student and the style of the teacher.

Music

Music has so many benefits to children and adults alike. From strengthening early math skills to giving new means of expression to feelings that emerge throughout life, and representing a vital means of communication, we are happy to be able to offer private music classes in guitar and piano in our space, as well as voice and singing lessons and songwriting classes in small groups for the younger and older.

Chess and Go

We offer classes on Go and Chess strategy to children as young as Kindergarteners extending up to adults. Chess strategy and tactics are established and developed and a deep love of both Chess and Go are fostered with our excellent instructors. Both games offer incredible benefits to young and old learners in the realms of social and emotional development, strategy, resilience, executive functioning and in developing reasoning skills. There is also a community that forms around Go and Chess players which centers respect and sportsmanship.

Seminars

We are happy to offer lectures on topics ranging from Introductory Buddhism to a workshop in Family Constellations. These seminars are geared towards adults but teenagers are welcome.

How to Register

Visit our Registration Page. We partner with Jumbula to create a smooth registration experience. Classes can be purchased in a package for a lower rate, or with a higher rate as Drop-In classes. Package classes are encouraged for a deeper learning experience as teachers can more effectively help children, teens and adults build knowledge over time.

Once you have registered, you will receive an email with follow-up instructions about textbooks when relevant and with a brief questionnaire to help the teacher become acquainted with the new class.
